“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” Scam Or Not?

The internet is full of diet programs, so how do you know which is one for you? Is “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”  a scam or not? Here you’ll find a thorough review, with both pros and cons, to help you to determine if this program is something you want to consider.

The Pros: What You Will Love…

“Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle”, Scam or Not? Pro #1:  Its approach to weight loss is highly personalized.

This diet is based on the understanding that there are different body types. It recognizes that one body type processes foods differently from the next.  For example, one particular body type may get better results with a diet heavy in complex carbs, while another might require less carbs in order to be as successful.

Tom Venuto, the designer of this program, realizes that many people do not know what kind of body type they are, so he teaches you how to determine your personal body type, gives you the information you need to design an appropriate diet, and helps you get a personalized fitness plan in place – all based on your body type.

As you progress, you are able to adjust your nutrition and calories as you need. In theory, this highly personalized plan should get you much better results than a generic plan.

“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”, Scam Or Not? Pro #2: You receive tons of nutritional information.

When you purchase this book, you will be getting access to pretty much everything you have ever wanted to know about nutrition, and how it pertains to your specific body type. Over 270 pages of the core book alone are dedicated to nutrition (vitamins, calories, macronutrients and much more). If you are serious about reducing body fat and putting on muscle, this information alone is worth the price of the system.

The program also comes with comprehensive guides to help you determine your base metabolic rate and caloric needs. It is a personalized and complete weight loss system.

“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”, Scam Or Not? Pro #3: You can purchase upgrades.

Besides the core book, you can purchase supplemental information such as a series of author interviews, and a subscription to Venuto’s web site.  These bonuses are of high quality, and if you have the spare time and the interest, you could literally spend months reading all of the content on the website.  The web site also features recipes, calculators, product reviews, and an active and helpful forum.

The amount of information would be valuable to someone who is serious about re-shaping his or her life and body, but in all honesty it might be too much for casual dieters.

The Cons: What You Should Be Aware Of Before You Buy…

“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”, Scam or Not? Con #1: This is not a program for casual dieters.

Hopefully this review saves someone a lot of time and stress.  If you are a casual dieter, you may find yourself completely overwhelmed by the amount of information you receive. The core book itself is a whopping 341 pages long. Add to that the many extras you get with the package and the ones you can purchase separately, and you might be tempted to simply “shelve it” and count it as a waste of money.

Also, Venuto writes like the bodybuilder that he is. By that I mean that you will notice quite a lot of emphasis being put on achieving a low body fat percentage. You might find the competitive bodybuilding information a little heavy-handed, but it is informative.

“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”, Scam or Not? Con #2: Exercise is not extensively covered.

Even though exercise is important when you are dealing with weight loss and body building, Venuto devotes most of the program to nutrition. Weight training and cardio exercise are dealt with in about 25 pages each.

Venuto does explain in detail about how exercise affects the body, but tends to simply suggest exercises rather than explain in detail how to do them. The sample workouts he gives look more like lists than step-by-step guides.

One little bonus, however: If you are at all curious about weight-lifting, the weightlifting FAQ section is extensive and will answer any questions you could possibly have about it.

“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” Scam or Not?  The Bottom Line

“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” is a remarkable online product.  Over the years since it was developed it has earned many loyal followers. Although it may not be the most suitable choice for someone who just wants to shed a few pounds, it shines as a guide to building your best body.

Are foods that reduce belly fat a myth or a reality? Believe it or not, scientific research has shown that people who ate certain types of foods did end up burning more fat than those who did not eat those foods.

So what are these miracle foods that reduce belly fat and help you lose weight over all? Let’s take a look at three of the best.

Foods That Reduce Belly Fat #1: Skim Milk

Calcium is probably of one the most populuar proven boosters of metabolism. You can get calcium from various sources other than skim milk (such as broccoli), but products made with fat-free, 1% or 2% milk deliver the highest amount of calcium with the lowest amount of calories.

Many studies have been done to show that calcium does cause weight loss. In one particular test, two test groups were compared to one another. All factors were kept the same, except that one group received several servings of calcium every day while the other did not. The group that received the calcium boost lost three times the weight compared to the second group!

Foods That Reduce Belly Fat #2: Beans

Dieters have been turning to beans for years as a preferred protein source. Why? Because they provide a healthy mix of both protein and carbohydrates. It takes longer for your body to process them, which means both that you feel fuller longer, and that your blood sugar level stays more stable.

The real “magic”, however, is the fiber content that beans contain. Your digestive system looks at fiber as a workout, you might say. If you eat enough fiber, it keeps things running smoothly, as well as making sure your blood glucose does not spike too high. (When you blood sugars spike, your body produces insulin, which, in basic terms, prevents fat from being dealt with). Choose plain beans, if you can. Fatty refried or sugary baked beans are not a dieters friend.

Foods That Reduce Belly Fat #3: Green Tea

It has long been accepted that green tea is fantastic for dieters who are looking for foods that reduce belly fat. Green tea contains powerful antioxidants that work in your body lessen the amount of potentially cancerous free radicals in your body.  It also contains enough caffeine to be an adequate coffee replacement, but that amount is low enough that it puts little to no stress your body. Belly fat burner green tea also helps you get rid of retained bodily fluids, as it also acts as a mild diuretic.

Green tea has also been studied as a fat burner. Not surprisingly, the results have been encouraging. People who drink 4 – 6 cups of green tea each day were found to lose weight faster than those who don’t drink green tea.(See Green Tea: Belly Fat Burner for more info.)

Honorable Mention: Water

Okay, water is contains no nutritional value, but it still is worthy of ranking highly on a list of foods that reduce belly fat. Some of the reasons why dieters are always told to drink a lot of water are that it dilutes the sodium in our bodies to counteract bloating, it pushes retained fluid out via urination, it promotes healing, and it satisfies our appetites. (Did you ever wonder why you get served ice cold water at a buffet before you begin eating?) Water also, however, helps your metabolism to keep running at its highest efficiency.

The reason for this is that our kidneys work as the primary filtration system in our bodies, passing toxins and waste fluids out of our bodies. These important organs need to be well hydrated to keep functioning properly though.  If they do not get enough water, the kidneys call on the liver for back-up.

While the liver is able to act as a secondary filtration system, it was not designed for that particular role. What the liver does best is turning stored fat into usable energy. But when it has to help the kidneys, it is not able to metabolize the fat as quickly as it used to. So be sure to keep your metabolism (the rate at which your body turns fat into energy) at its maximum efficiency by consuming a lot water every day!

How To Best Cure Belly Fat

Since the very beginning of dieting itself, people who want to cure belly fat issues have been debating food vs exercise. Do either of them succeed at giving you a trim stomach? Does starving yourself or exercising like crazy really help to shrink your stomach and get rid of belly fat?

For many years, diet “gurus” advised doing sit-ups and crunches endlessly to target and cure belly fat. It has been proven, however, that this “spot reduction” method just does not work. It is only through reducing your overall body fat that you can get rid of belly fat. That being said, there are things you can do to make your stomach look trimmer and flatter. And those “things” always include the right combination of foods and motion.

Foods To Help Cure Belly Fat

Many dieters are of the impression that as long as they watch their overall calorie count, they should be successful in their diet. Some foods, however, tend to linger longer on the hips, while others actually help get rid of belly fat!

You are probably aware that caffeine and nicotine are not good for you, but did you know that they cause your metabolism to decrease? Both caffeine and nicotine acta as stimulants, increasing your heart rate and blood pressure. As these vital signs go up, your body senses danger, reacts by shifting into a “preservation mode”. In this state, it stores extra calories as, you guessed it, belly fat.

Why belly fat? It has to do with cortisol, a stress hormone produced by our bodies. Cortisol what causes extra fat storage (especially around your middle), and this type of fat is dangerous. It is linked to heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. So if you are serious about wanting ot cure belly fat, you know what you have to do.

Foods that cause insulim production also lead to excessive eating and the accumulation of belly fat. Our bodies need insulin, and produce it to utilize glucose. Sweet flavours cause our bodies to release insulin when it is really not needed – when our blood sugars are low or normal. Foods with artificial sweeteners therefore can trigger a release of insulin, which in turn can make you feel hungry and eat when your really don’t need food.

So what kinds of foods should you be eating? Look for foods to help cure belly fat that do not trigger insulin creation, and do not cause your body to go into preservation mode. Foods that are nutritious and slowly-digestible will be good choices. Whole grain pastas and breads, lean meat and tofu, fibrous fruits and vegetables, whole nuts, avocados, and olive oil, just to name a few.

Giving up coffee can be a difficult thing for some. If you need the pick-me-up of caffeine, try switching to green tea. This tea is caffinated enough for a perk, and includes phytonutrients – and these phytonutrients have a host of other health benefits, including a faster metabolism.

If you cannot bring yourself to give up caffeine, switch to green tea instead of coffee. The tea contains enough caffeine to perk you up, plus phytonutrients that both speed up your metabolism, and provide a host of other health benefits besides helping to cure belly fat!

Exercises to Help Cure Belly Fat

While having the right diet is important, it is only half of the weight loss equation. You can not cure belly fat without exercise, unfortunately.  Cardio and strength training do not target only your abdominal muscles, but what they do accomplish is the reduction of your overall body fat. And once your extra fat is gone, then you can focus more on isolating your abdominal muscles to cure belly fat for that striking six-pack.

Many people are scared of the word cardio, but it does not have to be a high impact activity like running. You can go for a brisk walk, swim, take up martial arts, work on your lawn, bike, or do something else. Just committ to participating in it for at least 3 – 5 hours each week. You will notice the pounds start to drop off, including those around your middle, and your heart health will improve.

Fat burning is also helped along by strength training. By increasing your lean muscle mass, you are enabling your body to burn more calories and store less fat. Develop a strength training routine that you can complete three times a week, and work on it for a half an hour each time. You can do more of course, but this is adequate for when you are getting started. Make sure you vary your workouts to focus on different muscle groups. For example, one day work out your upper body, and the next day your lower body.

Be sure to rest your body between sessions and stay well hydrated. Become friends with water… your body burns fat faster if it has enough fluids! And don’t give up if you slip up in your diet or exercising. Just get right back into it! You CAN cure belly fat!
